 “Neighborhood
Barbecue”

Being an artist and all, especially here in the Wild West, you get used to neighbors dropping in for a barbecue now and then. This bunch brought their own buffalo steaks, so it was ok. A great time was had by all!

We did a little target practice after the feast, and threw an ax or two at the backyard spruce tree. It was a great contest. I didn't win of course. With this crew, you learn not to be too set on winning, just entertaining. Yaaaah Hoooo!

This couple was the bell of the ball what with wearing their best finery and all. It's too bad that I had cut my hair recently. They teased me just awfully about it. Out here in the Wild West a man's long hair is greatly prized.

Fun aside, this group is for real, folks. They are part of a Mountain Man Rendezvous club and take great care to make their costumes as authentic as possible. The lady to the right is Angie, owner of Out West Gifts in West Yellowstone, Montana, where much of my work has been displayed over the years. Stop in and see her on your way to Yellowstone Park! West Yellowstone has a remarkable attraction called The Grizzly Discovery Center where you can view grizzly bears and wolves close up. It's situated just at the entrance to Yellowstone Park next to the Imax theater.
